Thumbs down Nursery rhyme advertising

It has bothered me before that so little is done to protect children these days. What is done is very haphazard. This advert with a nursery rhyme narrative aired in 2000, but was then removed from the networks. I suppose the idea was to give teenagers the impression that the alcopop they were drinking was in fact hard liquor...

Is banning adverts really worth the trouble when really awful abuses go on in real life all the time with nothing done? I have been given cause to wonder lately why some parents are allowed to reproduce! At least my other half listens to my ranting...

On the subject of adverts though I wonder who was responsible for this one?

It is certainly more distasteful than the other one.

I do agree with you ruby, I have to wonder why some of these adverts can be put out there to begin with & why some parents don't watch over their children more.

A good example I know about is this online game my fiance plays is called Counter Strike. It's a war type game that is rated for mature players, more adults, young adults. The server he plays in, children as young as 6 go to play & the parents just let them have that game & play away with the adults. The children that come into the server he plays in are lucky though as the server owner doesn't allow swearing, nasty talk etc., etc.., but that's just that 1 server, there are others that are really bad.

Where are the parents? Why don't they "parent" their children?
