approaching women in clubs

hey,
this seems like a no brainer, but clubbing seems to be the best way to pick up women.
When I am out, I dont seem to have the confidence and have a total lack of technique in approaching women.
Is there any sort of technique or chat up lines etc that i can use to approach a girl i like?
Or how do you know a girl likes you, because im not the most telepathic with body language or eye contact?
