there was a thing on our news the other day about a kid that was addicted to WOW and spent like 18 hours a day playing it. he ate at his computer, never went outside, and didn't sleep until he couldn't stay awake any longer. He would even run to the bathroom to use it like ocne a day, and then sprint back.

yesterday i went sailing for the fourth of july, and it was lovely, we saw all these fireworks go off of the queen mary (its this huge permanently docked old ship for you non-LA-ers) and then at the very end it got foggy. coldest it ever got was 75. i hate heat.

FINALLY we had 2 days with no rain, I hope this is a trend for a good long time. Those poor people that have flooded, no power, tree clean up etc., need a break from all the rain.

Didn't even realized it was over two hours past midnight. I haven't login, in like 48 hours, so I decided to catch up on all the scoop @ the ATLF since coming back from the concert. Once my wife and I hit the road again for our camping trip tomorrow, It'll be a while before I can visit this site again. I'm taking the laptop with me, but I doubt there'll be Internet access where we plan to be for the next three days.

Here's something to think about today...why does the weather have to be so extreme? Flooding, extreme heat, droughts? It just baffles me.:confused:

I guess I can login and catch the scoop ... that is if my wife doesn't have any other plans during the day, and perhaps before I can hit the sack ...

So far, the camping's doing pretty good. We got to set-up everything before it got dark. It didn't make a difference (traffic-wise). To avoid the traffic in I-95 by Connecticut, we decide to drive all the way to the Eastern end of Long Island, and then take the ferry there. It turned out that there were too many people who did the same, that we had to wait up to the third ferry before we finally got on board. So time-wise it didn't make a difference, but with regards to stress, it was more relaxing than expected. We also got to set-up the bonfire and grill, so we get to cook some steak for dinner. Otherwise, the first lady and niece are just plain pooped, that they just want to call it the night and catch some zzz's. I think I'm doing he same ... :)

With regards to your question about extreme weather ... I do have lots to say, since I have a great respect for nature and wildlife, and had advocated in the past for its preservation. But for now, I'll sleep over it. :D

I asked this silly question at work, and this is the answer(s) that I got.

1) According to the children: Her car (or pink convertible as mentioned earlier)
-- they claimed that they're not licensed to drive yet, and the car would surely fetch for a lot of money. In turn, they would be able to purchase dozens of X Boxes, PS2s, and lots of other toys and candy.

2) According to teenagers: (a) her clothes; and (b) her shoes
-- they claimed that they have plenty of it, so trimming them down wouldn't hurt. The car, on the other hand, elevates their status to another level as compared to their peers, so it's a keeper.

3) According to adults: KEN!!!!! :D :D
-- they said that they would rather keep the car, the jewelry, the gowns, shoes, everything, but Ken is expendable. ... 'nuff said. :p

I'm just an average school teacher. I teach special ed. mostly, wherein I cater to the needs of students with Autism, Down Syndrome, MR in my own classroom. When I'm in the resource room, most of my students' delays are much milder, such as Learning Disabilities (LD), ADD, and the like. Except for the first group of students that I mentioned, all the others are integrated into general education classes, so I interact with other students from various ages and diverse ethnic backgrounds, as well as confer with fellow teachers, counselors, therapists and administrators almost on a daily basis.

I may be so pooped at the end of the day, but I always drive home believing that I made a difference in a child's wellness today. As a result, my job becomes something that I look forward to when I wake up in the morning. :)
