So, what do you all think of today's music.

Artists like Justin Bieber, Beyonce etc..

Do you think they & other new, young artists have what it takes to stick around for 10-30 years?

Do you guys think we will be hearing their music as "classics" like we still hear bands like the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Stevie Nicks, etc.?

Eh while I'm happy that the new artists are achieving professional success, they just aren't my cup of tea. Hard to say which one's will stick around or become a one hit wonder. As far as rock goes I think breaking benjamin, papa roach, or three days grace might stay for quite awhile.

I'll stick with the led zeppelin and isley brothers for music, I still haven't heard anything better than black dog or footsteps in the dark.

Current day music seems nonsense to me. These are the tracks which one would forget in no time. Does anyone listens to Rihanna's or NeYo's old ones - don't think so. Artists like eminem, snoop, metallica, springsteen, bon jovi and justtin timberlake have shown it to the world that their music is timeless. There's no other reason that an album released in 06(futuresex lovesounds) was chosen to be the best album for the decade in '10 in a recent poll.

I agree with you guys completely. Today's music really doesn't have a whole lot to say & to remember years from now.

I'm not going to remember Justin Bieber, any of the people that are American Idols, even some of the newer rock groups years & years from now.

Even though some pessimists think that "rock is dead" so to speak, I'd been seeing some new groups that are making good music ... suddenly, the old becomes new again. But as aces mentioned, it's only a matter of time who determines who's the one hit wonder, and who's here to stay.

Even though they've been snubbed by the hall of fame, or some people might find the singer's voice "annoying," I'll stick with my favorite trio from Canada - Rush. :D

... and other old school rock acts, such as the guitar licks of Ritchie Blackmore during his days with Deep Purple.
