Moving somewhere for someone else.

My relationship with my guy is at the begining stages still. We havent started dating, but we like eachother alot. friends since forever (it seems anyways). Last week I told him about my fears of starting a long distance relationship. He got back to me a couple days ago and told me that he was thinking of moving to my area... at first I was all excited! But then I started thinking about it, like I always do. I mean thats a BIG change. He'll be leaving his friends behind, his life. I kinda talked to him about it, but he interrupted me with how he is going to move in with his uncle and is moving there for college, and how it'll open up oppertunities for him. :rolleyes: I dont belive him. He hasnt even looked at any schools. I mean his Uncle still lives a good drive away about 6 hours. Do you think it could put added stress on our relationship? considering it's still very fragile.

It even came up a few times.. of him moving in with me :dong:. Which you know, I wouldnt really mind. He's having a living situation right now... so he's jumping from friend to friends houses. I actually think it would be fun. But I already have a room mate, it might be cramped. Also I live in a expensive city, it was overwhelming to me when I first moved. And I dont want him to be overwhelmed.

my ex told me it was a bad idea, he said he had past experiance (:mad: I hate that guy! always bringing up his experiance. but I dont know, he might be right this time... I hate that guy haha). So I guess the problem is, I really want him to move closer. But I dont want him to move just because of me, in case something doesnt work out. I dont want him to be stuck and resent me.

ok haha. So what are your thoughts on the matter? is it a good idea or a dangerous one? hehe I dont even know if I could stop him anyways.

Well, your right. You probably can't stop him from moving in with his Uncle. I do caution you about moving in together right away. That can make or break relationships. Especially if it's so fragile. Just encourage him to think things through and not make any quick decision

I think you are doing the right thing about not moving in together straight away. You want to spend time getting to know each other before you even discuss that.

I think you are very caring about trying to get him to think about moving down. Leaving friends and family can be hard. But It depends on the person. I could leave for someone I really care about. Your friends and family will always be there and he can always visit for holidays and things.
