Just curious what different people look for when developing friendships. I tend to look for those who share common interests. A strong sense of humor is good... people that love to laugh.

I agree with that totally Tuxie.
I also try to pick people that I can trust and keep a secret to themselves. I did that recently and made a good friend because of that. :)

I've had friends since I was a kid so we grew-up together and yes same as you
became friends with people I shared common interest with. I also expect them to be there when the going gets tough at any time of the day or night. I do the same. And yes - I adore laughing and joking so all my mates are the same. I am a girl/woman so most of my friends are women. It takes me a while to take people in as friends.

I like to surround myself with intelligent and funny people. People that have a good heart and are kind. I can't stand to be around rude and mean people.Just curious what different people look for when developing friendships. I tend to look for those who share common interests. I expect honesty and loyalty.
I want someone to treat me the way they want to be treated.

I want the person to be honest, caring, will be there for me if/when I need them. I'm going to do all that I typed & more so I want the same in return from a potential friend.
LOL...that's probably why I don't have a lot of friends! :D

Same here. I've been stabbed in the back so many times it isn't funny.

I know whatcha mean. It's so hard to find a loyal friend these days. I only have a few and I don't take them for granted.
