One of our great members, mashmac has fallen ill. She is currently in the hospital with a severe case of appendicitis. For those of you out there who pray, I ask you to pray for her. For the rest of you if you could just send good thoughts her way, that would be good. All of us here at ATLF hope for her speedy recovery. :flowers:

One of our great members, mashmac has fallen ill. She is currently in the hospital with a severe case of appendicitis.
This is all I know aussie. It seems that it was a common case of appendicitis... one that wasn't caught very quickly. I guess she had very few of the normal symptoms.

Thank you so much Tuxette. Thank you so much guys. I am back but it will be some weeks before I can actually be as active as I used to. I need to rest and sleep and I am still hurting. I've been thinking and wondering about all of you a lot and you just brought tears to my eyes.

I had a severe case of " infectious peritonitis" and as I had no prior symptoms, it went into the last stages. Lucky I live in a civilized country because otherwise you can die from this. Of course they only told me so after.

I just woke up with horrible pain and after that it's all a bit of a blurr - they just rushed me into hospital. It hurts so much that I don't think I was really conscious. Yes I guess if the infection had spread more I wouldn't be here now.

Makes you realize how we are here one sec and gone the next...

Here is a definition (hehe - bet you can hardly contain your apatahy!)
Peritonitis is defined as inflammation of the peritoneum (the serous membrane which lines part of the abdominal cavity and some of the viscera it contains). It may be localised or generalised, generally has an acute course, and may depend on either infection (often due to rupture of a hollow viscus) or on a non-infectious process. Peritonitis generally represents a surgical emergency.

IN SIMPLE WORDING: IT'S SEVERE COMPLICATION FOLLOWING A SIMPLE BASIC APPENDICITIS!

I will go for now and forgive me if I am not as active as normal - just it takes a lot of effort.

And you got me worried about EC now. Hasn't he been on? Anyone knows anything?
