My heart is very heavy today...

Back in 1976, when I first heard the opening stanza of "More Than A Feeling", I knew something was extrodinarily different about this new band named BOSTON. Driving rhythms, electric melodies, and a solid beat filled my ears and mind as I listened. Above it all, there rose a dynamic vocalist... IMHO one of rock's all time best. His name was Brad Delp.... he died yesterday. I post these lyrics in his memory.

Hitch A Ride ~ Boston

Day is night in New York City
Smoke,like water runs inside
Steel idle trees to pity
Every living thing that's died

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sun lights another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time
Oh yeah

Life is like the coldest winter
People freeze the tears I cry
Words of hail their minds are into
I've got to crack this ice and fly

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sun lights another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sun lights another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time

Yes... 55 is not old, by any means. Seems like yesterday... it was 1976.

It's sad for someone so beloved to take their own life that way. Leaves in its wake a lot of shock, grief, confusion and asking "what could I have done?" :grouphug:
