This is a really long story so beware before you start reading it, I just need to get it off my chest so this is what I am doing :)
My friend J worked at the cinema where I used to work at. Now he had been working there for 6 years and he recently got fired!. The reason he got fired was the worst reason you could imagine. A customer was served a coke and brought it back because it tasted funny. J gave a customer a new coke. He then went out back so he could taste it quick to make sure it was bad. A new manager came in, saw him, excused him of stealing. 6 years the guy had been working there. J is appealing against this at the moment. He is not really who the story is about but you need to know this side to understand the whole situation.
My other mate B has been working for the company for 6 years also. She was upset by the situation as were many of us, whether we still worked there or not.
Anyway shortly after she saw another member of staff eat something from the front of the area and the supervisor on shift just laughed at the member of staff and said at least go someone where you aren't going to be seen.
This really upset B so she gave a statement to a member of management, that new staff member was then fired.
( Maybe this was wrong what she did, I don't know, but I can understand why she did it, maybe if I was in that situation than I might do the same, who knows )
Anyway, after this it starts to get bad at work for B. People at work don't like her much as you can imagine. They start to think that they are clever by leaving notes in the staff room for her to see. One of them really disgusted me. It had in it somewhere
" I had a dream last night that you were dead at the side of a river bed, It was great "
It was words like that, the exact words I cannot remember.
She spoke the managers about this and they tried their best to stop it.
Most of the members of staff started ignoring her, turning their backs on her when she was around, not helping her on areas when it was busy. Not giving her breaks on time ( she needs this because of her illness ) They also threaten to poison her food etc so she has to hide this is the Managers private office.
One of my mates stood up for her and has not left her side through the whole thing, I love him for that. They started to threaten him as well, saying if he continued to be her friend then things would happen to him as well.
He stood by her.
Head office eventually got involved and came down today. They called a staff meeting and tried to make people come forward. Didn't work.
Head office then told her that they thought this was too petty to do anything about that they thought that she was making the things up to attention seek.
She quit.
Nice company.
I won't be setting foot in that place again.
I especially won't at the moment as I am afraid I will tell some people exactly what I think of them.
