To stop and smell the flowers, watch the sun set or rise....I am always so busy with the kids and the house and my husband that it often seems that I never stop and take a few minutes to myself to enjoy the simple relaxing things, do you ever feel like you are always doing something for somebody but never for yourself? Or that you dont take enough time to enjoy a relaxing moment with your spouse partner?

I am always way too busy as well to be able to take much "me" time to enjoy the little things in life. I have been trying to do these things for myself lately because I feel that I am a much better wife and mother if I just say " Ok I am going shopping and no one is going with me" When I come home I feel 1,000 times better then when I left.
Yes, I feel the same now. In my youger days when I read articles regarding finding time for self I never gave any importance to those thoughts but now I can understand the meaning of finding time for self. It is very important for one to keep the mind fresh.

You are now speaking of men and women as a whole. You must take the time to enjoy God's gifts. If you study Buddahood and learn to chant to the cosmic energy in our Universe which helps us to live and breathe, you will find all the richnesses around you. In spite of having children, remember that your husband was there when it was just you and him. Give him undivided attention when he is around. You don't want to lose him to someone else later on in your life. Give the children to friends and sit in the back yard or a park with your male companion. Smell the air and look around. Parks are amazing for seeing live insects and animals that God has placed there.
Welcome to ATLF and I look forward to many awards in this forum. Bye for now, Audrey Smith

I know exactly how you feel but one class in college helped me with this. The class made us right an article about the little things in life. I had never stopped to think about them before. I still remember that day walking back from class and noticing how beautiful the sunny sky was with the mountains in the background. It really made me feel good and now I try every day to take 5 minutes and just walk outside and clear my mind.

I had a class called education for life when I was in high school-its main objective was to make us realise that are are so many things around us to be noticed and appreciated. I guess thats how I started paying more attentio to my surroundings. But as we ger carried away with other responsibilities we stop appreciating whats there.
