well, I've been here for like, 5 months, and never saw this.
So, my name is eaglebaseball, I like playing baseball, guitars, driving and racing, and long walks on the beach (lol).
I'm terrible with girls, I can talk to them all day, but once it comes close to relationship stuffs, I self destruct.
LIke I said, I love cars. They're my life. I know more about cars than probably the rest of my school combined (even the kids in auto tech) beause I love them and research so much.
I'm a junior in highschool, I'm planning on going to college either at McGill in Montreal, Dartmouth in New Hampshire, one of the many schools in Boston, or University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
I love canada just as much as I love cars, and my favorite car of all time is the Nissan 300ZX (which I love more than life itself).
I like to make music, as well as listen to it.
I've never had a girlfriend, never found a girl I truly liked enough to make it worth the hassle until now, but that's a whole 'nother thread in itself, way too complicated for this.
That's pretty much me.
feel free to ask questions.
forgot one more thing:
I'm a hell of a lot funnier on the phone and online than I am in person. I dunno why, but whenever I talk to girls on the phone, I can usually make them giggle, but in person, my talent just disappears.
I'm such an oddball.

Oo another junior like me!
well eaglebaseball I don't have any questions for you at the moment but welcome to the ATLF.
I am pleased that you have become an active part of our friendly and caring community
I used to have the same love for cars when I was your age but now that I am older it has worn off a fair bit.
we are all a barrel of nerves when we meet our first girlfriend but they could be just as nervous as we are at the time
Edit you might be junior's but enjoy it while you can.

well, all I can say is that I'm glad to see you become an active and contributing member of the ATLF.
I love McGill University and Montreal in general. I never went to school there, but the college I attended and graduated from was located an hour south from it (by the New York border). I did used to have friends who attended there, and I will never forget the barrage of phone calls that I used to received from those guys, just so I could take a road trip there for the weekend. In one of the dorms that I used to crash a lot in the past (Gardner Hall), I loved going to the top floor as I can just oversee the lights surrounding the city at night. Since the legal drinking age there was 18 (I wonder if it still is), they sold beer right at the lounge of that dormitory. I remembered getting introduced to guys and gals over there and the first thing they said was "hey, have a beer!" :D
Oh yeah, the bathrooms were shared by both men and women. Imagine how I frantically tried to zip back my pants and how red-faced I was when two girls entered the bathroom while I was in the middle of doing my business on the urinal. They just giggled and informed me that they all utilize the bathrooms there!

yeah, I spent a few days up there like 3 weeks ago. Most amazing place I"ve ever been.
That's definitely part of the reason I'm going up there. I'm going to drink in college anyways, so why not do it where it's legal (its still 18, 19 in the most of the rest of canada). My mom doesn't know its 18 though, which is probably a good thing. I think that shared bathroom thing is pretty cool. Gives me a major incentive to get in good shape before I go. lol.
McGill is by far my 1st choice. I would go there before anywhere else, and if I get accepted, I'm going to send the letter of intent or whatever you do that exact same day. lol

Well, I guess you made a good choice there bro. When I used to live in the north country, there were three places that I frequented, and I was fortunate that they were just an hour away from my house at that time. One was Burlington, VT to the East, Lake Placid to the Southwest and Montreal to the North.
I remembered being in the Canadian capital of Ottawa once with my friends. While we did our sightseeing during the day, we were bar hopping by night. I recalled seeing a bridge. On one side was Ottawa which is in the province of Ontario, while the other side was Hull which is in Quebec. It's amazing to note that the legal drinking age would be one year apart, by just crossing that darn bridge!
Canada is definitely a very nice place. One year after I did my backpacking tour of the U.S. via Amtrak train, I did the same in Canada. This time with a friend where we started in Quebec, and then worked our way west to Vancouver Island in British Columbia. We did it through a combination of hiking, camping, travel by bus, train, and hitchhiking. lol

that would be a blast.
if I do go up there, one day I'm gonna do a roadtrip like all around the southern edge, up to yellowknife, and then back down to Montreal.
or maybe I'll do it after first term, on the way home. I'll just take a VERY ROUNDABOUT way of getting home, lol. "mom, I know I'm supposed to be home in 2 days, but I'm going on a roadtrip, see you in a couple weeks." lol

same here. My mom and dad wont let me go party with my friends. They were like "enjoy high school, its the best time of your life" and I'm like "no, not really, not if I can't go party with my friends."
I've heard stories of what my parents did when they were in high school, and I'm sure that's not all of it.
And I can't even stay out past 11pm on a saturday night, or go hang out with a girl without my parents knowing exactly who she is.
eagle thats called protecting you
your parents may seem unfair to you but believe me when you get older you will look back and say gee yes they were right.
I had the same when I was your age I was not allowed to go to party's or go out with my friends I had to be in bed by 10 pm no matter what the night was.
but times do change I can remember the first time I was allowed out I still said to my parents where I was and I was told be home by 9.30 pm i went ice skating that started at 7 pm.
in my young days kids were seen and not heard...

WELCOME to ATLF Eagles! I am glad that you have come back here & become more of a participating member. Sure glad to have you here with us as much as you can come here.
I agree with Tony, I know you don't think your parents are fair, but when you get a bit older I bet you will see why they were "hard" on you now. I was like you too when I was in high school, couldn't go party with my friends, had to be home at like 9 or 10pm, had to tell them everywhere I went. Even had to give my dad long explanations about friends I was going out with & where we were going, I hated it & even hated high school. Now I see why my parents were a bit strict with me though & I'm grateful for it.

Another car junkie.. welcome!
One question, why do you like the 300zx?
Its the sexiest car on the face of the planet. If you were on some of the car forums I'm on, you would know how much I love it. I'm dead set on getting one, and one of these days, when I'm in Canada, I'm going to import a 99 JDM right hand drive slickttop twin turbo (they stopped making Z's in the US in 96, and slicktops were never in TT), but unfortunately, due to the 15 year rule, it will be 2014 before I can import one, and thats assuming the law doesn't get changed, and RHD cars don't get banned up there, like they're attempting to do right now.
I would rather have a 300ZX than a lamborghini, if that says anything about how much I love them.
Welcome to ATLF, eaglebaseball! :thumb:

oh yeah, some more stuff about me.
I speak one and a half languages. I speak english very very fluently, and I can speak some spanish.
Funny thing is, I work at a mexican restaurant, and they all tease me, and they're like "you work at a mexican restaurant, you can't speak spanish, you don't eat spicy food, and you're white!"
It's all good fun though, we have a great time there. I must say, I was skeptical at first that I would be ostricized, but now its all good. I'm helping lots of them get better at english, since for all of them, they're first language is spanish, and most of them still have some trouble with english.
I also like computers. I'm in a computer programming class, which is a lot of fun. Never thought I'd learn how to do it. And then in college, I'm going to become a doctor, either a brain (yeah, I know, everyone wants to become a brain surgeon), or a cardio-thoracic surgeon. I considered being a field medic for the army for a while, but since I'm moving to Canada when I turn 18 (or, if I don't go to college there, after I get out of college), but I decided that that kind of life wasn't for me. So now I'm just considering being either a regular army doctor (the kind that stay on the bases), an ER surgeon (hectic, but rewarding), or just a regular practitioner.
I also enjoy a nice rum and coke (not very often though, once in a great while). not the hard stuff though, I like the flavored Malibu coconut rum. yum yum.
thank you for sharing that with us eagle you have set yourself some high standards
I wish you well with that.
I also speak 2 languages English and Dutch both fluently a second language comes in handy sometimes

I wish I could fluently speak 2 languages.
Everyone says that when I speak spanish, I say it with a texan accent. I didn't believe it, until I heard a recording of myself, then I was like "oh, lol. I'm silly"
I also enjoy reading medical journals, as well as harry potter. just had to throw that in there. lol

lol. I don't much care for spanish. I'd much rather know how to speak french. I was in France for two weeks, and I would hear these girls speaking in french, and I would be like "omg, that sounds so hot. I wish I knew what they were saying". Same thing when I went to Montreal. lol.
no time? Do you have like, a real job? I don't, I only work like, 10 hours a week. haha
