Just curious.. of course because everyone's definition will slightly differ.
A friend to me means someone I can confide in at any time and will always be there for me. Or someone that will always "have my back", be honest and loyal. And watch out for my well being. I hope that makes sense.

I agree with Pink's description of a friend. Also, I may add, non-judgemental as well. Not everything I'm going to do in my life my friend may not agree with, but at least see where I'm coming from & try to understand me. Don't talk behind my back about it or talk down to me as well.
Respect is a big thing because as your friend, I'm going to be honest, true & respect you, so I want the same in return.

definately agree with pink and sapphire. As a friend, i think they should defend you always, even if you're fighting. If someone is saying horrible things about you, they should make an effort to stop them.
And of course the usual, honest, loyal, always there when you need them, and vice versa.

yeah I agree with all above but mostly someone who I could tell anything to and I know that they won't say anything to anyone...That to me is really really important.

I agree with all the above. One thing I have also learnt is with a true friend you can go months without seeing them, calling them etc and when you do catch up again it's like no time has past. They are the ones you can turn to and know that no matter what they will not judge you but at times they will try and guide you when you feel a bit lost :D
I also agree with all the above
true friends are like gold very hard to find but very easy to keep
