What do you do when your ex-spouse that has already left and the attorneys in the divorce tell you that they want more money? They tell you that you need to give your spouse more money lets say to raise the kids?

I would get my own attorney. They would have to take you to court in order to get more money out of you, so I would get my own attorney to deal with the ex spouse's attorney, things may turn out better that way.

I have not been in this situation myself, but have known many people to be in this situation. I have to agree that I would contact another lawyer, but I would contact a lawyer who specializes in divorce. If your spouse is unemployed or employed at a low paying job, then I could understand this, but if the ex is asking for more money just because, then no. If the kids need something outside of what you are giving, you can always do it. For instance if the kids need something health related and you can afford it, you can go in and pay for it. Or if the kids really want to play soccer, or other extra curricular activities but your ex can afford the fees, but not the uniform, you could spend a day with them and take them to buy what they need. I hope that helps.
